Terms of Service

Last updated: 1 January 2025

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the ChatPress platform and services (“Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Service description

ChatPress is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that enables users to update WordPress websites via WhatsApp and Telegram messages. The Service acts as an intermediary between your messaging app and your WordPress REST API using credentials you provide.

The Service includes:

  • An AI-powered message parser that interprets your commands.
  • An approval workflow that previews changes before they are applied.
  • A rollback mechanism allowing you to revert the most recent change within 5 minutes.
  • A web dashboard for managing your account, sites, and subscription.

ChatPress is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or supported by WordPress, Automattic, Meta, or Telegram.

2. Acceptable use

You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to modify or publish content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, fraudulent, or infringing on third-party rights.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or another user's account.
  • Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited commercial communications.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract source code from the Service.
  • Exceed any usage limits applicable to your plan in a manner designed to circumvent billing (e.g., through API abuse).
  • Provide false information during registration or when connecting a WordPress site.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, at our sole discretion and with or without notice.

3. Account registration and security

You must be at least 18 years old and a legal entity or individual with capacity to enter contracts to use the Service.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately at legal@getchatpress.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

One person or entity may not maintain more than one free account.

4. Payment terms

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance. Prices are in Euros (€) and include VAT where applicable. All payments are processed by Stripe.

Free plan: Limited to 3 updates per month with no credit card required.

Paid plans: Starter (€9/month), Pro (€29/month), Agency (€79/month). Plan details are as described on the pricing page at the time of purchase and may change with 30 days' written notice.

Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time via the dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial months.

Failed payments: If a payment fails, we will retry for 7 days. After 7 days of non-payment, your account will be downgraded to the Free plan.

5. WordPress credentials and data

To use the Service, you must provide an Application Password from your WordPress site. By doing so, you confirm that:

  • You are the owner of or have authority to modify the WordPress site in question.
  • You grant ChatPress permission to read and write content on that site on your behalf, subject to your instructions.

We store your credentials encrypted (AES-256-GCM). We will never use your WordPress credentials for any purpose other than executing the commands you send through the Service.

You are solely responsible for the consequences of updates made through the Service, including any unintended changes to published content.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, code, and content, is the exclusive property of ChatPress and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service solely for its intended purpose during your subscription period.

You retain all intellectual property rights in the content you publish through your WordPress site. ChatPress claims no ownership over your website content.

7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

ChatPress does not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components. We make no warranty that changes made via the Service will produce any specific outcome on your WordPress site.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable EU law, ChatPress shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of business, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total aggregate liability to you in connection with these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amounts paid by you to ChatPress in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) €100.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

8. Termination

Either party may terminate these Terms at any time. You may delete your account via the dashboard. We may terminate or suspend your access immediately if you breach these Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases and we will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland and the European Union, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall first be subject to good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to the courts of Ireland, which shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

If you are an EU consumer, you may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
